What's this fruit ?

Grows in Mondolkiri, and grows well in the wet season. Looks like a sort of passion fruit. Can anyone identify it ?

Weird. Looks just like a passionfruit, but those are trees, and passionfruit grows on vines...

It is man, they are not trees just healthy vines growing on an over head trellis. Also the Khmer word is 'gkroach' the same as orange.

I think they might be vines mate growing on an overhead net for easier picking

Ah, that would explain why they are called oranges then. Big for passion fruits though.

Ok, these photos show the plants a bit better. They look more more like vines here.

There's another fruit in the passionfruit family - granadillas, I think - but they turn orange as they ripen. I wonder if this is any way related.
