Gawddamn, it finally rained!!!

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Gawddamn, it finally rained!!!

Post by ruralvoice »

I'm sitting outside on my porch listening to the gusher slowly dissipate into a polite pitter patter on the roof. Besides the personal relief I am also happy for my villagers-most of whom were already eating the seed rice they intended to plant.

So, I am experiencing this at around 2am in Tbong Khmum Province. If it also rained where you live, let us know. And if it didn't you may be appropriately jealous.

I talked to someone in Ubon in Thailand who they got 3 hours of rain there as well. Very good news. Let's hope it keeps coming down in reasonable but generous amounts spread over a long time without going to the other extreme. The good Lord could really give the poor farmers a break right about now.

4:45 AM, a heavy shower in Phnom Penh.

Now, 6:20 and the skies look like there is potential for more.

Still raining, not heavily but a polite offering of relief at 6:30am. Somewhere mosquitoes and flies are planning their comeback.

That's probably your underwear you're smelling. Time to change into your wet season pair.
