Verbal High Open Mic Stand-up Comedy
Posted: Tue Jun 24, 2014 3:30 pm
Just as you'd thought you'd caught your breath and recovered from the hilarity of last week's comedy show, Phnom Penh's mirth control division send yet another wave of stand-up straight back onto a stage near you, this time in the form of the highly anticipated open mic comedy night, Verbal High.
The show is slated to start at 8pm on Friday 4th July. Entry is just $1, or is free if you get in before 7.30pm. Please note that, although there is room for all, seating spaces are limited in number, so arrive early to guarantee a seat. Alternatively, arrive late for standing-room only.
Verbal High is proudly brought to you by our sponsors:
Kambutea Brewing Co.
A locally produced, natural brewed, probiotic health beverage containing beneficial nutrients known to boost and maintain the body's immune system. Comes in many flavours and tastes great, too.
The Flicks.
Phnom Penh's favourite independent movie house continues its support of the Cambodian comedy scene. As well as the showing of contemporary cinema releases, The Flicks also bust out retrospective classics and all the latest episodes of popular TV series
EARS
EARS is one of Verbal High's favourite charities in Cambodia. They do incredible work helping relocate, heal, aid, and assist the world's largest land mammals. EARS is an elephant foundation — based in Hong Kong — helping to educate the public about the plight of the Asian elephant in the wild and the misuse and abuse of captive elephants used in tourism.
Should you wish to perform stand-up at any of our future shows then please contact us, details of which can be found at http://www.verbal-high.com. All performance slots are already reserved for this upcoming show, but fear not, each show has a crowd participation section should you wish to flex those funny bones: participants who can create the best jokes based around the randomly generated theme of the evening will win prizes donated by our sponsors including bottles of Kombutea, a pair of all-day inclusive tickets from The Flicks, or, from EARS, matured elephant dung.
See you there for the funnies.
