How do you create a poll at the top of the page?

What's your net worth?

A. $0 - $20 000
B. $20 000 - $50 000
C. $50 000 - $100 000
D. $100 000 - $200 000
E. $200 000 - $300 000
F. $300 00 - $500 000
G. $500 000 +

I used to sit toward the top of D range until South East Asia spanked my inexperienced financial white ass. Now, I languish toward the wrong end of A.

Good lord. You lost 90%+ of your net worth since moving to SE Asia? I don't understand why you didn't recognize your burn rate was unsustainable and take steps to change it long before you got to this point. I hope you are young and ambitious enough to turn things around, financially speaking. That gets harder to do the older you get, for many people anyway. Money may not buy happiness but poverty sure the hell doesn't either. Having such a financial cushion gives me some peace of mind for the future. Of course, it could all go to shit anyway, but I've done my best to provide myself a chance at a decent future. Definitely not luxurious, but comfortable enough.

Most of my net worth is tied up in the stock market, so if/when that crashes, my net worth plunges (as it did in 2008/2009). I could live off the dividends alone if I had too, just barely. But my homes is paid for, I have zero debt, and keep plenty of cash in the bank for emergencies, plus some precious metals investment which increases in value in times of runaway inflation. And I'm still working and saving money like a miser for retirement.

Bottom left corner of the post window. Listed under options.

Also I would expect some posters to have negative equity. Underwater mortgages, credit cards, overdrafts, student loans.

We need a debt jubilee.

The option is at the bottom of the page when you're typing your post.

I copied your exact options and made it a poll.
