My fiend just did 5 full days and nights without food Im sure a lot of us did a few days without eating over new years. My Khmer friend warned me it takes a Khmer 3 days .

Rules of 3: 3 minutes without oxygen, 3 days without drinking, 30 days without food.

I would agree:

3 minutes of oxygen starvation and teh dying process will begin, death follows soon after
3 days for water
3 weeks for food but this can be extended if fluids are taken

There has also been a case where a morbidly obese man went without food for a year under medical supervision.

It is the salts and supplements (electrolytes) that extend life but I think the 3:3:3 is a rough rule used by people out under survival conditions and not those within supportive medical care.

Beer has alcohol which your body converts to sugar, which is a kind of biological fuel.

According to wikipedia: "Beers vary in their nutritional content. Brewer's yeast is known to be a rich source of nutrients; therefore, as expected, beer can contain significant amounts of nutrients, including magnesium, selenium, potassium, phosphorus, biotin, chromium and B vitamins. Beer is sometimes referred to as "liquid bread"."

So, a diet of exclusively beer AKA "liquid bread" should allow a hearty barang to live indefinitely or at least until liver failure occurs.

Im sure in Cambodia the rules change as the bacteria ,water , food and nutrient levels are different but the electrolytes are a good tip of advice im gonna have a big box of royal d and water by my bed at all times from now on.

I am not sure about other people, but for me one day without rice would drive me crazy.
