Garage: Parties, Boats and The Big News

This Saturday Garage celebrates its 5th Anniversary. The beer will be free, the tunes good, and the burgers smashed, and I would not be surprised if GB shows up with a platter of something special.

We're also welcoming our new owner, and GB and I could not be more pleased that Peter of Tara Riverboat will be carrying on the Garage tradition in full measure, food, music and all, albeit with a peculiar Oz accent (we're almost used to it) . He's been in the Kingdom longer than I have and is damn good guy to share a bucket of beers with. And, it should be noted for this gang, my friend prefers t-shirts to wifebeaters.

That he also happens to run a bunch of nice boats is a beautiful thing. Thus the traditional 522 cruise will make its return soon, except now with full bar and only a very nominal contribution asked for petrol. The best afternoon is about to become even better, and I expect a more frequent adventure.

So there it is, thanks for a great five years and come celebrate with us Saturday.

Congrats with the sale. If you don't mind me asking, what are your plans now? Open something else or are you thinking of leaving the kingdom (I seem to recall you alluding to this at some point in the past)?

Looking after my daughter and 86 year old dad are my priorities so hope to be in the US first part of next year.
