Where did our Protagonist go?
The GOAT JB is mia. There are other prolific posters now noticeably absent. Did they fall off a boat - or just give up on us?

I think jB got banned and decided to sulk
Re: Where did our Protagonist go?
Probably banked on that other site making a revival and it failed?! They'll be back soon, would be my guess.David Gordon wrote: ↑Sun Apr 13, 2025 8:04 pm The GOAT JB is mia. There are other prolific posters now noticeably absent. Did they fall off a boat - or just give up on us?

Ha, have you considered he may have morphed to another username. There's more to Hanky than meets your eye of enlightenment 👁

Re: Where did our Protagonist go?
We gave out a firestorm of short bans and warnings (I believe you yourself received a few) when things were getting out of control, and I guess some have not come back yet, if it all. It's nothing personal to anyone, and all are welcome if they can act right. Don't fret, there are still plenty of members who disagree with each other, lol.David Gordon wrote: ↑Sun Apr 13, 2025 8:04 pm The GOAT JB is mia. Speaking of banned members, I had a video call with Friday with Mateo this week, and he really wanted to be allowed back on to CEO. I have a soft spot for him, as he didn't get banned for being a troll nor an asshole but rather seemed to ignore every bit of guidance we gave him about having the need to post on every single topic even when he had almost nothing to say, lol.

Re: Where did our Protagonist go?
I’m sure it is.
I’ve cut down my CEO involvement recently. I was on the end of a few weird (IMO) modding actions by GM. And I kinda thought ‘what’s the point?’ of spending time engaging in a community conversation for someone in a different time zone bouncing in 10 hours later and deleting a series of comments based on their preference and whimsy.
I’m not angry or in a huff - just found it weird and felt like my CEO involvement was a bit of a futile exercise. I’m still here, but commenting less frequently and not getting drawn into things - especially the quickly toxic political threads, which seem to have become a bit of an echo chamber.
The PMs saying ‘stop crying LOL it’s not the end of the world, I could have just banned you’ were irritating though!

Considering what you CAN get away with posting here, I really do wonder what you have to post to get banned though!khmerhamster wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 8:29 amI’m sure it is.

That's good to hear, and there's been waaaay less 'toxic political discussions' lately, so things are a bit more civil (at least at the moment, lol).khmerhamster wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 8:29 amI’m sure it is.

And I apologize for throwing in that jibe. You were kind enough to discuss it back and forth privately a few times, so I do appreciate that. We were handing out quite a few bans/warnings at that time, so I got a little flippant for a couple of days, my bad. We are glad to have your contributions and might have been a bit strong with the modding actions that week, but at least we got things a bit under control, so to say.

Re: Where did our Protagonist go?
I wonder if there is any connection between that and the the recent bans and modding done by yourself a MAGA devotee.General Mackevili wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 8:56 amThat's good to hear, and there's been waaaay less 'toxic political discussions' lately, so things are a bit more civil (at least at the moment, lol).khmerhamster wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 8:29 amI’m sure it is.

It seems (to me) that most people who hold alternate views now refrain from posting , leaving iron rabbit and David gordon to continue in their fan-boy love in with the occasional random article by Richard, which then gets quickly shot down by another mod.
It seems that any kind of attempt at rational or intelligent debate is quickly shouted down amidst a flurry of memes and Twitter embeds. That’s when it gets toxic… so if we leave DG and iron rabbit to it to post their inane ramblings then the forum is less toxic, but maybe stupider.
