One death in diverted flight from Singapore Airlines due to turbulence

Post by Kammekor »

A Singapore Airlines flight from London experienced severe turbulence and diverted to Bangkok (BKK) airport. Several passengers were wounded and one passed away during the flight.

Must have been quite a rollercoaster.

I've seen some pics from passengers on the plane, including the dead body laying on the floor covered with a blanket, a lot of damage and a lot of bloody faces. Thats why seatbelts are so important when flying.

Had a hell of a flight into Doha a couple weeks ago, massive storm, lightning bolts either side of the plane you could see the high rises getting struck, plane was getting pushed left to right , up and down, 2 last minute aborted landings... I was shitting myself, not afraid to admit I was really fkn scared....can only imagine what the passengers on this flight were feeling 😢

did you use Qatar Airways to go to PP? That was the airline I used and transited there.

I didnt share this but when I arrived back in NYC going thru Passport control they singled me out and i had to walk in front of a cop. The cop had my passport and escorted me to another room. It was kinda stressful and waited for 10 minutes but seemed like forever until they called me to the desk.

Asked if I was traveling with anyone and answered no. Then they let me go.

Has that happened to you before? Wasnt sure if because I transited in Doha ..but happy to get the hell out of there

Different things, surely.
The incident in the Singapore flight where someone died and Kiwi's flight was a physical problem - serious turbulence.

You're talking about an on the ground issue with immigration.

Agree. I wouldn't even want to experience anything close to that. Sounds traumatic.

The aftermath (not graphic):

"Life is too important to take seriously."

"Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh."

"I started bracing for what was happening, and very suddenly there was a very dramatic drop, so everyone seated and not wearing a seatbelt was launched immediately into the ceiling," 28-year-old student Dzafran Azmir told Reuters.

"Some people hit their heads on the baggage cabins overhead and dented it, they hit the places where lights and masks are and broke straight through it," he added.

That is why my seatbelt stays on the entire flight.

Oh, another Boeing

Boeing shareholders better hope it was actually, in fact, turbulence that caused this latest mishap . . .

The mad press and lefty corpophobes love to raise the word Boeing every time a plane busts a tire, Im more interested in looking at the maintenance records of the airline. The bolt might not be there, but y'all passed it as airworthy didnt ya?

Regardless of the plane, I made a reservation on Singapore for next month and then I read about this. Wish I could walk or take a Bangkok taxi.
