Phnom Penh woman arrested for beating husband
A woman is today in custody in Phnom Penh after being arrested for attacking her husband and causing serious injuries.
The woman was arrested arrested by the Phnom Penh Municipal Criminal Police and sent to court on the afternoon of June 28, 2022.
She has been named as Borani, 34 years old, living at Preah Ponlea Village, Sangkat Prek Pra, Khan Chbar Ampov, Phnom Penh.
The arrest related to an assault that took place on the afternoon of June 16, 2022 in Orchid Borey, National Road 6A, Prek Leap Village, Sangkat Prek Leap, Khan Chroy Changva, Phnom Penh.
According to the complaint, on the above day, the plaintiff (husband) and his sister, along with another sister’s friend, went to see the house that was bought in installments at Borey Orchid Prek Leap.
When they arrived, Borani (his wife) and two of her accomplices (two men) started an argument.
The wife kicked and punched her husband, causing injuries to his face and body
Under interrogation, the wife confessed to the beating.
Based on the complaint of the injured party and the confession of the suspect in accordance with the crime, the authorities also built a case to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court according to the procedure with Mr. Oum Sopheak Preah The Deputy Prosecutor, representing the Prosecutor’s Office, investigating.
It is understood that the couple are also now applying for divorce.
