Police Make Plans to Protect Foreigners from Petty Crime

Finally, Cambodian police are going to put an end to these increasingly common bag snatchings, pickpocketing and other petty crimes against foreign nationals.
The good news? Tourists and foreign investors will be safe.
The bad news? Doesn't sound like they care about us expats much.
They also acknowledge that there is a lot more crime in Sihanoukville this year, and that the Russian mafia is getting out of control.
“But Cambodia does not allow mafia foreigners to come to commit illegal offenses on Cambodian land. If this happens, police forces will investigate those people and punish them by the law. The foreigners caused offenses such as revenge, shooting with intent to kill, love triangles and business conflicts," General Savoeun said, according to a transcript of the remarks posted to the National Police website on Sunday.

The draft plan has been sent to all 27 foreign embassies in Cambodia.
