Well it certainly says that (even with spelling mistakes) but anyone could type that up...but it’s been confirmed by various FB and agents.

It will screw up many people.

Can anyone find the official "prakas" or declaration for this?

With effect 01st Oct 2020, those applying for an EB (Business) EOS (Extension of Stay) are required to submit the following documents;

- Print out of Screenshot of tenants (applicants) details from the registered property owners FPCS app account (or if you registered yourself then from.tour account)
- Official letter of employment from employer with official Company stamp
- Copy of Companies Tax Patent with official Company stamp
- Copy of Business license with official company stamp (Business owners only, in addition to the above 3 documents)


The decision was made during a DoI meeting today and an official directive should be publicised by the end of the week. Several reputable Visa agents from different cities have all reported being informed of this new requirement from their DoI points of contact.

For those who are working here legally/own a legally registered business this will have no effect on their ability to apply for an EB EOS...it will however affect those who don't actually legally work here and normally obtain their EB EOS via the backdoor, ie. those who provided fake letters of employment, whether produced by themselves or a visa agent, etc.

So the Ministry of Labor would be the department that announces this declaration? A teacher I work with is trying to submit her visa for renewal and my HR is oblivious about this change. That's why I'm trying to be proactive and find the announcement so he can get things sorted out.

No, the DoI will make the announcement, has nothing to do with the MoLVT.

The reason for this requirement is that they have finally cottoned on to people/agencies applying for EB EOS's without legitimate employment via fake employment letters, so having a copy of the employers Tax Patent is further evidence that the applicant is indeed legitimately employed by a Cambodian registered company.

If she is applying now then its fine, no need

If your above board and legal i see it as goof, you have nothing to worry about.

But i wonder how it will affect freelancers

Not sure what I'm missing here, but can't the same company that previously provided a fake employment letter now also provide a stamped copy of their tax patent? Or were fake letters issued by fake companies?

Yes. Previously they didn’t or couldn’t (be bothered) to check every application. Now if you’re in possession of a real tax patent then they will assume the letter is from a legitimate registered company (you can’t have one and not the other).

This will push many people to leave especially if the only option is a monthly EG.
