Woman Detained for Starting Boiled Egg Rumor

Cambodia News (Siem Reap): According to the order of general Neth Saveoun, police chief of National police station, Siem Reap police detained a 29-year-old woman, Dok Sokley, a clothes seller, who made up a story about COVID-19 and posted it on social media.
On March 26, 2020, the woman posted on TIK TOK saying that " a two-day-old baby told her that eating a boiled egg could protect from COVID-19".
After she posted this, many people believed her, and they went to stock up on eggs for boiling, and this led to an increase in the price of eggs.
The authorities are warning the public that what was the woman said was a lie. She was detained for reeducation and agreed to stop doing that.

Ridiculous! Why would a 2 day old baby lie about something as serious as Covid-19? I'm going to boil all my eggs right now.

it could come from the Cambodian concept that babies remember their past lives until they eat eggs. Of course one of the first solid foods a baby eats is eggs. This is taught by some teachers as a fact.
