3 level house in PP, city water works on the first floor but because of the low pressure, the water doesn’t reach the 2/3rd floors. Looking to have some sort of water booster pump installed, I’ve seen these in few places but have no idea where to start. What should this cost? Any recommended installers/shops?

I think I saw a bunch of these at global house for under $100. but plenty of other places. but your water should get to the 3 floor. I would contact the water people first.

Sometimes it reaches the 2/3 floors, sometimes it doesn’t.

Global House as he said, and they also sell them along Monivong by the light shops as well. Keep in mind that the booster pump needs to have enough water going to it or it'll likely burn out if the line goes dry (city water cuts off, for example). Pressure is non-existent at my place as well at night time.

My pressure drops away during the evening and I have nothing at all from around midnight to 6am, then it's fine again. Makes me think they are doing overnight works and shut it down for that. But last year started out like this too... and then my water could randomly dry up and any time of the day.

They should be around $125.00 $150.00 for the pump. You need a water tank of at least 1,000 litres that fills from your supply and pump from that. You can't pump directly from your incoming water supply.

Wrong , Wrong , Wrong, There usually is water to you door but not enough pressure to go up to the tank on the upper levels. That is why a booster pump is required.

For many years this was not needed as the night-time pressure was always very good but with the resent boom in hi-rise buildings the high night pressure has disappeared as that is the time that the hi-rise building suck all the water to fill their tanks on the top of their buildings.

Even out at Takhmau we have the same problem.

Nothing wrong about it. You pump from a reservoir, not from an incoming water line. Read my post again. I went through this whole ordeal in Sihanoukville 2 years ago because of the building spree down there. They only turned the water on at night. Those that didn't have a storage tank were out of luck. The same plague has now hit Phnom Penh.

What Duncan said. I pump from water supply and don't have a tank. You can get pumps which turn on automatically when you use water but are a tad more expensive.
At my place I need to use pump 5am to 8am then maybe 4pm to 9pm.

Also the price is about half of what cooldude says.

What happens when you want the water on the 3rd floor and there is no water at the mains to pump because it's been turned off?
