Beware suspect eggs at Lucky Supermarket

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

Bought eggs at Lucky Supermarket off Monivong Blvd. Kept in the fridge for only a day or two.

Missus boiled ‘em. Last 3 are suspect. 2 off them were hard and not easy to cut. The yolk is kinda funny looking, and the whites are in layers, then separates into a cracked rubber texture. Possibly a fake (reconstituted) egg. Or expired.

1 looked kinda OK. It wasn’t. Feel pretty bad now. Not sure if I’m gonna vomit, or pass it out. What a crappy ending.

How much do eggs cost at lucky? I buy duck eggs ( the only thing available where i am) and they're fantastic and 500 riel each or 2000 riel for five.
Hope you feel better soon

You do not buy eggs at a supermarket.

You buy eggs at the local 'fresh' market.

Lesson learned?

You can get free delivery too.

My missus prefers the market vendor ladies though, as she gets social interaction, can bargain a price and of course hears the local gossip.

When I go for a walk with my daughter everyone calls out her name, and she mysteriously gets free samples and sodas.

Supermarkets are sterile and although are of benefit, have tended towards lack of community spirit and social cohesion.

That's my outlook. :thumb:
