Just an idea, Lets see if this get removed ( yea, we all know you cant remove a thread but) :beer3:

Since this is OUR forum, as we have been told, can we have some say in who gets to be a mod, (a thankless job but some crave the power) ?

Lets let ALL our posters put forward their names if they would like the job and we vote on them??

AND since it was an elected position, they could also be impeached if we, the public, demand it

PS:
Why was franks recent post deleted ?

No, I think the system is fine as it is. But I do think we pretty much all agree that it is a thankless job. No telling what kind of effort, or care, an elected mod might contribute, anyways.

No parameters on how frequently new elected mods could get elected, or how often new votes might be taken, are just a couple of issues that wouldn't easily be addressed effectively.

Keep up the good work, gents! (An 'atta boy' is all I can give you, no cash!)

The forum is a private company owned by someone. So it is his property and in a way also his responsibility. These simple facts should settle the issue. The democratic aspect comes in through participating or not.

You could elect the most wonderful member that everybody loves and respects, but before too long you'll all be complaining about him/her. It's a thankless task.

A vote for JUDGEDREDD is a vote for lunacy, my first act as a MOD will be to unban every online soldier lost within the last 12 months and to change the font to comic sans size 72.

Whilst I know I cannot buy your vote I do hope I can buy you a drink that inturn will buy your vote, a single degree of separation to bring us all together.

Vote with your heart
Vote with your head
Vote for someone you don't know
Vote for JUDGEDREDD

sorry but i disagree.
None of us ( at least none i am aware of) have been upset with you or Jamie's moding, its been fair and seldom created problems in 5 years. its only once Clutch came on board that the cleaning up, editing, deleting, banning went heavy.
Been 6 or more other posters i have PM'd with and others mentioning it on threads seem to agree with me, even a past mod, (whose post was quickly deleted today), find clutch has let it go to his head,.
Never have so many gotten bans

Might be thankless job and i'd never do it, but it can be done without upsetting so many

I have had my say, carry on

Sorry but CEO has a lot more diversity of members than the some you allege. There is a much wider audience out there beyond a close knit group. And they have to feel OK to be welcomed, contribute and not be attacked, insulted and trolled. This drives membership and participation away. That's the wider picture we have to consider. If one wants to say what they want unfettered, there's another forum where they can go.

Forums evolve and last I discussed with the General CEO is doing well and participation rates in discussions are up.

Some members I suspect feel they own the forum and can say what they like and don't like change. That's understandable but we are about growing the community and catering for the wide diversity of members..not just a select group.

Well said.....this is something some of us lose sight of at times, myself included.
