Just collected some spending money all in 100's grrrrrr

every year I remember 100's being a pain in the arse

they are either too large no one excepts them or they swap them out for fakes and give them back
thinking maybe the casino will change them for smaller denominations for me?

or do I begrudgingly give the bank another $10 just to swap the notes for smaller

Use a money changer, get $20 or so in Riel. I doubt a bank would charge $10.

Banks have always done it for free for me.

I always pull hundreds from the ATM; never a problem to spend them.

Use riels to pay for your 50 cents beers, pay for your dinner with a 100.

Mention the last number(s) of the serial when you hand it over so there can be no confusion about which note came from you.

mentioning the last numbers, good suggestion, i was thinking of even taking a photo when i handed it over

in Australia banks charge between $8 to $10 for that service I just discovered...they are no public service business

maybe they don't in Cambodia?

I've also got to remember to reject the shitty worn and torn notes they palm off to me....

Particularly with US dollars.

With Khmer Riel it is not as important, provided they are not too bad.

Just curious... do they have "credit unions" in Australia like they do here in the states? I can't stand the banks here in the states, especially the Bank of America (Bank that ROBS America). Maybe the exchange would be cheaper at a credit union if they have them?

In Australia you don't need to change $100 notes. All shops have change for them.

ya, I meant changing $US for smaller denominations in Australia prior to my trip....i guess they are a business
