Funny English

Most Cambodians leave the end off words. Then when they write them, they sometimes spell them the way they say them.
Like Restaurang.
Why use two words when you can use one. like Forent.
Can you see anything funny with this?
Here it is up close.

Lychee. Spent a few minutes of confused looks cashier when I tried to order the Lychee drink.
Missus had the step in with Li Chi.
Confusion lifted on her face.
I wasn’t pronouncing it the proper Khmer English way.
