Knockoff Restaurant of Katy Peri's Pizza Tuk-Tuk on Street 51 Opened in Phnom Penh

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Sent to CEO on social media:

'"Those that are big fans of Kati Peri Pizza.... Read this!

The new restaurant that has opened up evidently doesn't have anything to do with the original Kati Peri Pizza off of street 51 near Sorya. Some Chinese businessman (so im told) evidently saw an opportunity to jack the name, branding, and take one of the original staff to copy all the recipes.

Sorry, but I don't support this kind of BS, especially for something that is somewhat of an "iconic" item to the PP nightlife.

I went and found the new page on Facebook, with hardly any reviews. But they have recently updated the page as of two weeks ago with pictures and information.

Just thought you should all be aware of the situation and understand what these guys are attempting to do behind the original brand we all know and appreciate... Quite shameful honestly, and we know how hard these guys work at night to keep all us drunkards and late-night snackers happy."

This is the original https://www.facebook.com/KatyPerisChicken/

This is the new one that just opened and is a fake. https://www.facebook.com/Katy-peris-2-284861198751580/

Not 100% sure if the owner is Chinese, but that is what was mentioned to me.

Not that it matters much who they are anyways, just a bit fucked up.

Just talked to one of the staff. He said that they aren't chinese and the person that told me was wrong. But they did rip off everything else. Just some "businessman" I guess trying to steal it all.

Not sure if its worth a post. But im sure plenty of expats would find it interesting.'

And an article about Katy Peri Pizza in Vice Magazine back in 2016:

Typical. Not an original idea in the entire country.

I recall a scam Apple store opened somewhere in China, it looked from the outside exactly like all the real ones. it must have cost a lot of money to set up, why? it was obviously gonna get sussed.

Come on! We could have an entire thread devoted to original Cambodian ideas.

For example:

Making violent offenders pose for photos with their weapon of choice.
Image

Writing out the number of drugs seized in a bust with the drugs
Image

Burying victims of electrocution in sand in order to bring them back to life
Image

Injecting sick people with chicken soup.

Saying that 25 cents is 1 dollar.

Making a sausage out of a dead girl's nipples.

etc., etc.

While I admit there is some great research there. I should have qualified it by saying good original ideas.

What about those 11/24 convenience stores. That's original.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Don't you remember?

Back in 2014 this Khmer guy dug up a dead 17 year old's corpse with the intention of raping it. However, he couldn't get a hardon despite watching porn on his phone so he cut off her nipples to make a sausage.
