Strong recommendation to avoid SuperFit if you fancy a swim

I went to SuperFit near Russian Market this morning for a swim with some friends. I hadn't been for quite a while, so I was a bit surprised to see that the prices had gone up from $8 to $10 for a day pass. I hoped the place had been renovated to justify the increase as I thought it was stretching it a bit asking for $8 last time.

My friends went to the gym and I went to have a swim on my own, but while walking up to the showers next to the pool, I noticed I was having to dodge more and more bird poo on the floor. I couldn't actually have a shower before getting in the pool as I didn't want to step barefoot in it. The floor around the showers were literally caked in it.

I jumped straight in the pool and swam for 20 minutes before joining my friends in the gym. A bit later we all decided to go for a swim before going home. I pointed out the bird poo on the floor to them and we navigated ourselves around it.

This time, there was nobody else in the pool and hadn't been for some time as the water was still. But because the water was so still, we noticed globules of jelly type stuff all over the surface of the water. I looked closer and it wasn't just on the surface. There was loads of it just hanging at all different depths in the water. The pool was full of it.

That's when I realised, yep, you've guessed it, it must have been bird poo. Why would there only be bird poo around the outside of the pool? I was totally disgusted and wanted to throw up. Knowing I'd swam in that for 20 minutes made me want to add to the contents in the pool by emptying my stomach into it.

Bizarrely, I didn't see hardly any birds there at all, and this was clearly a problem that had been building up over some time. We shan't be going there again and I just wanted to pass on the word of warning to anyone else thinking of going for a swim there.

Anyone know how long you should wait before knowing if you've contracted any nasty bugs?

It's probably bats. And expect all local owned gyms to take a bit of a drop in standards over the holiday. Be thankful that they made the effort to remain open. Pp sports club pool is particularly green today too.

That pool sited under the first floor is particularly cold. I had a watch stolen there. Fuck them.

Personally, if by remaining open, it meant people unknowingly swimming in pools of shit, I'd have rather they closed. Thankful is not a word I'd associate with my experiences there this morning.

So what did you say to the management? Or did you just bitch about them online instead?

I was advised to let it go but after thinking about it when I got home, decided that I'd alert others about it. Or bitch. However you want to phrase it.
