Child Protection Unit & Authorities Need Your Help Identifying Female Murder Victim

Investigators are seeking information to help identify the brutal murder of a young female in Tborng Khnom.

CPU, The Ministry of Interior and Tborng Khnom Police Command have established Joint Task Force Bravo23 to investigate the brutal murder of a young female who’s burnt remains were discovered on a banana plantation in Tborng Khnom on the 4th of May.

At about 0730 on the 4th of May 2023, banana cutters discovered the remains of a young female deceased and burnt on a banana plantation in Chong Cheach commune, Tambor district, Tborng Khnom province. Police were immediately notified and attended the scene. Investigations commenced in an attempt to identify the victim. As a result of those investigations, the CPU was contacted.

Between the 10th and 11th of May the CPU Homicide Investigation Team and Forensic Service team traveled to Tborng Khnom. A forensic examination was conducted on the deceased and both samples and evidence were collected.

To this date, the young victim has not been identified. Investigators are appealing for help from the public to identify the female victim.

At the time of her death, the victim was wearing a distinctive dark-colored T-Shirt with the word “UNIVERSE” on the back as well as a picture of and the word “Venus” and a picture of and the word “Earth”.

If anyone can identify this T-shirt or is aware of a young female who had one that is now missing or they have not seen please contact the CPU, Tborng Khnom Police Command or your nearest Police Station.

“This was a particularly brutal murder and those responsible need to be bought to justice,” said James McCabe the Director of the CPU.
