Cambodian Tale: Somali Samaritan Intervenes as Ladyboy Scams Tuktuk Driver

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On March 20, 2020, at 10:10 am, a tuk-tuk driver complained that he was scammed by a ladyboy in San Ham market, Sangkat Toul Sangke, Khan Reusey Keo, Phnom Penh.

Before the incident, the ladyboy called the PassApp tuk-tuk to take her from San Ham market to Toul Sanivon pagoda area. She went to the pawnshop to recover her iPhone 6 plus, but she didn't have money, so she borrowed 55 USD from the tuk-tuk driver. Then after getting her phone from the pawnshop, she told him to take her back to San Ham market.

But of course, then the ladyboy didn't have any money to pay back the tuk-tuk man. So then, she went to another pawnshop. She wanted to put her phone there and asked them to lend her 70 USD, but the pawnshop only offered to pay 50 USD. The ladyboy didn't agree with that, so she walked out.
By then the tuktuk driver was angry, because he didn't get his money back that he had loaned her, and he didn't even get the fare for his ride. The two then had a big argument, and in the end, the victim even called his wife for help, but it was no good.

After arguing for a while longer, the ladyboy still refused to pay the money. Then,(for some unexplained strange and obscure reason), a kind woman named Somali intervened and offered to pay 55 USD to the tuk-tuk driver to settle the argument.
Happy Ending !
