Cambodian Police Are Not That Badly Trained After all

Burlington, IA — A Burlington Police officer, supervising a domestic dispute, shot and killed a woman in front of her house Tuesday morning.

The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Autumn Steele. The Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI), who is leading the investigation, has not released the name of the officer who shot her.

There is no indication that Steele or her husband were armed or that they posed a threat to the officer involved.

According to court records Steele was arrested Monday night on a misdemeanor charge of domestic abuse. She was released from the jail and told that she could not return to the home without a police officer escort in order to gather her belongings.

Steele then returned to the home with her police officer escort, the same person that would later kill her.

As her husband, Gabriel Steele, was loading up their 4-year-old son, Steele came out of the house and got into an altercation with him. She was followed by the dog.

When the escort officer saw the disturbance he went to break it up. Witnesses say that at this time the dog was being playful, but apparently still threatened the officer which caused him to draw his pistol and begin shooting.

One of the shots fired struck Steele in the chest.

“The dog startled the officer. The officer began shooting at the dog. The officer was still shooting when he fell down in the snow,” one witness told The Hawk Eye Newspaper.

Oh, that's not a very popularbthing to say I'm afraid. A lot of Americans have the "Cop Apologist" thing going on, wherebthey always side withe the policeman rather than the victim. I have to agree tho'. Even before the recent surge of stories of police violence in the US, police brutality was a huge issue in the states, it just wasn't acknowledged.

I would lay dollars to doughnuts there is more to the story. If the cop was afraid of the dog he should have used pepper spray. All cops carry that.

I just googled it and it does sound like some sloppy police work. I doubt anything will happen because it sounds like he slipped on ice. That being said he should never should have drawn his gun. Pepper spray or a taser would have worked just fine.

As one who has had personal experience with the American shoot-first cops, I can tell you nothing will happen to the cop, his buddies will slap him on the back and praise him for a "kill" and the little girl won't have a mother. The US federal government funds military shoot-first training for all police forces and provides military equipment as if they were going to war.

I wonder what exactly its going to take for the Sheeple in the US to say enough is enough and do like the Declaration of Independence says and do their "Duty?" I remember "beat-cops" that used to walk their territory and knew everyone and everything. Now they are in metal eggs with no contact except to intimidate or shoot the public. The court/prison/jail system in the US is a big corporate cash cow and Oh! how the money rolls in. (Al Jazeera news channel is doing a special on the corrupt US judicial system.)

If you visit America (Why?), be afraid, be very afraid. Not of the criminals, but of the police. (Hard to tell them apart anymore.) Domestic Violence is the new word of the day. (along with Domestic Terrorism.) Cop gets a domestic violence call and he usually brings in all his buddies (and a SWAT team) for shoot-fest.

As the number one criminal attorney (one of the 1%of the good attorneys), in the Pacific Northwest of America told me: "If you make a police call against your wife/girlfriend, when the cops get there you better have an axe in the middle of your forehead, a knife in your back, she is shooting you and has a drug needle hanging out of her arm, or you are going to jail."

America, the land of the not so free. (At least we still have our guns and have the means to take our government back when/if the need arises. Chew on that one serfs.)

1. The Weather(It snowed!! climate change! Need more regulations)
2. Gun accidents(gotta take the guns away)
3.White cops killing blacks(keep race baiting going)

5. Russia Evil!(need a bad guy...Putin is the scapegoat for defending his country)

this trend is now alive in Europe...although in the UK somewhat less, police not being armed....but for sure instead of being on the scene before the trouble starts walking the beat....now they just turn up as a heavy mob....

Yes, take the guns away from the cops and let the private citizens shoot the criminals when they rape, steal, pillage. Its called the "Castle Doctrine." In the US you can defend your home, family, self with deadly force if threatened by criminals, but can get shot by trigger happy police anytime. If a drug crazed thug/criminal(s) breaks into your home, which would you rather have to protect your wife against rape/death and your children? A gun which can stop the criminal right away or a cell phone for calling the trigger happy police that may be there in say 20min and could very well shoot you, your family and/or the family dog? In the US we call it a "No Brainer."

Criminals in Britain rarely have guns, of coarse some do.....we also don't have school yard massacres with mummy's or daddy's gun by crazy kids ...
If some breaks into my house I would use the traditional 4x2 or some such blunt tool in both Cambodia and the UK ....
Police not having guns in the UK is a great thing....you can stand your ground and dont have to be scared to being shot....tasered and gassed yes but not shot....Police have to be a little more flexible in their approach ....( unless your Brazilian and look Arab)
