Canadian Man Commits "Suicide" by Hanging (suspicious)

58 year old Canadian citizen Brian Kaoru Ito found dead in Cambodia (date of birth: November 11, 1955). Ruled a suicide.
RIP
Maybe it's just me, but these foreigners committing "suicide" with this method strange places are starting to all sound a bit fishy.
They all seem to be done in a very strange, but similar, way.
I know it is possible to kill yourself this way, but it doesn't seem to happen this way outside Cambodia as often.
I just hope the embassies of foreigners are doing some sort of investigation when the Cambodian police rule these deaths a "suicide."
Maybe I'm just too suspicious about everything, but to me this method here amongst foreigners seems odd.
The article said he is most likely Korean, Chinese or Vietnamese.
NSFW!
Google Translate:
A foreign man hanged suicide trees at 7 and 30 am on 12 October 2014 in a plot of land where other Krang Don Chao.
However, the victim's identity is not yet known whether the Vietnamese or Chinese.
