adopting (buying) a baby

My wife has been talking about this for a while now. She is adamant that she does not want to give birth and she knows at least two couples who have done it. Both couples have not had any problems apparently.

Any way just thought I'd throw this out here for the balanced views and opinions of our esteemed group.

Not that I will take your views to heart but I am curious as to what people think about this.

I think it's a good thing. In fact tried to convince my wife of it. I sort of hate the idea of making new babies when so many unwanted ones are already out there.

We had a friend who was working here and adopted twins. All went well and they are now boisterous 5 year olds living in Australia. She gave us a detailed run down ofher experience, happy to share via PM.

You know what's odd? On this forum, you can actually have legitimate conversations about building families, whether it's natural, surrogate, adoption, from the market, and it's completely normal and acceptable. See, a month ago if you posted the OP you'd have been shot down and the thread would have died. This is not a criticism of 'elsewhere' per se, more a celebration of this place. I like it.

if it's not too personal, could you share here to some degree? I think others finding this could probably benefit from it greatly.

I'm sure she'd be delighted to in the morning but the sleeper she stole from me has kicked in and she's making delicate ladylike noises in her sleep.

Considering the surrogate baby factories in India, why wouldn't there be one in Cambodia.
As for adopting here, what's the screening like.
