Do all Australians know about this?

Basically, unless you contact the Australian government before October 15, an electronic record of your medical history will go online.

That means government employees, the police, medical practitioners, Russian hackers, et al. will be able to access your records and find out about all the STDs you caught from southeast Asian hookers, all the times you overdosed on heroin, that time you slipped over in the shower and landed on the shampoo bottle and had to go to ER to have it removed from your anus, that 'accident' with the vacuum cleaner, and all the times you visited your GP to get prescriptions for erectile disfunction and anti-flatulence medication.

After many opted out stating ourage/concern about sharing the info with police without a search warrant (as well as usual security/privacy issues), they backed down and said police will need a warrant.
I still opted out.

I would opt out of such a scheme... no assurances agencies can not access that information.
