The longer an argument goes on the internet, the probability of an analogy to Hitler or the Nazis approaches one.
Ha! So true...

I'm hooked on QI. Fry is a great host. The funny banter and wit amongst the panel is hilarious.
Anyone know when the next season starts?

Essentially: The longer and harder people argue, the more fascist in their stance they become.

I don't know why people feel they "have the right" to be offended.

they fully have the right to be offended. it's just that they don't have the right to make anyone else give two shits that they have been.

As an aside, I don't like the contemporary misappropriation of the word 'fascist'. It gets used as a byword for intolerance of others' opinions when in actuality it means nothing of the sort.

I totally agree. I feel much the same about the aardvark. It is so much more than just the first animal in the dictionary. Before the written word it was seen, rightfully, as the proud and noble animal it is but following the work of men (I use the term lightly) such as Samuel Johnson, the noble aardvark has been misrepresented.

Then again, some peasants out there might well see this as the natural evolution of a living language. A language that changes and adapts, to allow it to remain the stalwart of social intercourse. What do these dimwits know?

I despair sometimes, I really do !
