No number plates

It's that time to take off your special number plates and put lots of election stuff all over your Lexus

it may be that its a new import or just bought from the showroom (highly likely) and they don’t have plates yet
my new car didnt have plates for three weeks

Cool, means that you can run into loads of families on motorbikes when you're ratshit drunk, and you don't have to pay.

You are supposed to get temp plates straight away. And many of those cars will not have number plates years later. The Boss said years ago that he would personally, and immediately halt all cars without number plates (as well as any cars running with bought RAFC, police, and various other government plates); that went the same way like him stopping illegal logging, illegal sand-dredging, and overloaded trucks.

i was offered plates there and then but it would have cost another $5 so i told em to do one

No not a new car or import it's just someone that drives around with special plates on most of the time then cannot use that car for electionering purpose as government vehicles can't be used for that so off with the plates.
Probably find a few big trucks with no plates on too in the parades coming up.

Sometimes they have a plate and don't put it on yet even if they have the "plate papers" to show that the car is brand new.
