Sihanoukville Square closing in One month

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I lost count a long time ago of how many people I've known or just read about who invested In Sihanoukville only to have the contract torn up and subsequently get evicted so the place can get bulldozed and the whole process can just start again, only with larger sums of money. It's been going on as long as I can remember. Does anyone remember when the governor built a huge mansion on a hill, only to lose his position and then have his property demolished?

What???

This just screwed a sale of an inconsequential asset of mine. If I had know and I had been the type of person you imply I would not have agreed to lease transfer next week , I would have pushed for the deal to settle straight away. As it stands we will be giving back a sizable amount or all, of the deposit as we cannot settle.

Please do not assume everyone in business here has the same scruples as you obviously do.
