Another RIP

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Another RIP

Post by bobsboots »

Just heard tonight, on 172, that a good friend of a good friend had died in a room not far from 172.
My friend was shocked by the news.
I had met his friend on a few occasions; he was a French Vietnamese man who frequented 172. He was all right. No danger to anyone. Not a junkie or a fuckwit.
Yesterday, as the woman in an unnamed hostel on 172 told me tonight, he had come to her establishment, but looked awful. He was shaking. She was worried about his appearance. He went home and died.
RIP, Matthew.
Condolences to my friend for his loss.

Was he the guy that was selling bracelets and small things? I would give that guy a buck every now and again. He had been looking rough lately. If it was the same man.

No, it wasn't him. Matthew was a visitor in Cambodia and didn't sell things on 172.
