Why do Cambodian ladies squat in the ladies'?

More often than not when I use the ladies room the toilet seat is up even after a woman has finished doing her poo-do in there. At cafes, bars, restaurants and in even in the office, the toilet seat is usually up. As late as this morning I entered the office potty after the in-house bimbo only to find the seat up and the floor soaked. I like to think that it's to please the men who force themselves on the poor toilets clearly marked as female only but after conversing about the matter with several Khmer flapper chatters I am led to believe that they don't know how toilets work.
The big question in life is: do they?

Used to squat toilets, that simple.
Raise the seat flap, climb on the rim, fire one!
Bit like my neighbour, rents a six-bedroom apartment, but wife and kids live in the street from 6 am to 9 pm.

Funny thing about Japan and Korea. Super modern and high tech countries but you go into a public restroom in a train station and they've got a fucking hole in the ground for a toilet.

It's a conundrum, if you don't lift the seat you it can get soiled and people complain. If you do the lift it up and forget to put it down people still complain. So what the fuck?
