CNPA Reacts as Satirical Police Video Goes Viral
It appears that some people on social media have been mocking the loyal services and dedication of Cambodian police forces. As you can imagine, this dissemination of negative content will be taken very seriously indeed by the Cambodian authorities.

The Cambodia National Police Association has requested the Ministry of Information to inspect the content of a video which they regard as malicious and damaging to the police’s image.
According to a Cambodia National Police Association statement yesterday, the association has witnessed several so-called entertainment videos that convey negative connotations regarding the Cambodian police.
“The video content showed people wearing fake Cambodia National Police uniforms, caps and badges and acting out in a bid to discredit the police,” said the statement.
The request for the ministry to take action, the statement said, is in a bid to prevent the dissemination of malicious content that could potentially affect the reputation of the Cambodia National Police and provoke social disorder in society.
“The dissemination of the video casts a negative view of the police force, which always strive to protect the order and national security of Cambodia,” it said.
National Police spokesman Lieutenant General Chhay Kim Khoeun said yesterday these types of entertainment videos spoil the citizens’ perception of the National Police.
“The video portrays Cambodian police wrongly. The staged video involves an act, where people dressed as police use inappropriate words and conduct negative behavior towards citizens. These kinds of videos bewilder the whole society’s perspective toward our National Police,” he said.
Lt Gen Kim Khoeun said, “When you take national laws as a joke or portray the National Police in a wrong way, it can harm our national security.”
The statement, signed by Deputy National Police Chief General Pen Vibol, said: “Since the release of the statement, we have not yet received any response from the ministry.”
In light of the occurrence of these types of entertainment videos, the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts in April formed a Disciplinary Council to control activities on social media in a bid to fight the dissemination of malicious content which could negatively impact society.
The council said it aims to control all forms of content that provoke social disorder, including sexualisation and racial discrimination. It said malicious content must not be distributed because it could affect the country’s dignity, culture and social order.

No jokes about the police (continued):
If you post on social media, do not try to be funny, and whatever you do, do not mention the police, who have no sense of humor.
It appears that "MeyMey", the above account holder, 43-year-old Heng Raksmey, lives in Chamkar Samrong, Battambang city, has confessed to police that as a joke she wrote on her facebook page that there was a monster out in front of Banan temple, so visitors should be careful. In writing this article, she intends to refer to a traffic police officer who is on the side of the road as “a monster”. Yes.
"Mey Mey" and her friend got pulled up by the traffic officer in question, and were both fined for not wearing a helmet on 16 June 2020. And then, the day after she posted her joke on social media, the woman was taken into custody by Battambang police on 18 June, where they made her thumb print a statement saying that she deeply regrets her action disrespecting the traffic police, and she will not do it again.

I wonder how many police man-hours were used to track this lady down, haul her in, and create this tit-for-tat Facebook moment.
Surely there is a better use of their time and budget......and their feathers are not so easily ruffled?
This subtle clamping down on free speech, thumb print by thumb print, whether by the butt-hurt EDC or the police, all with the tacit approval of the government......is chilling.

Yep, you always know when that's about to happen when the cops put on the white gloves.
Joe Biden when a Senator, was famous for taking the subway to work.
Can you imagine a Cambodian minister taking public transport?
I think the loss of face would cause them to immediately die of shock.

Me too, but maybe post it on the darknet if you find it, and title it as "Completely Unfunny Video that Doesn't Respect Policemen and Therefore Should be Banned from the Internet."
Then we can all chime in and say how shocking it is.
