Big boys toys and loads of WD40

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Big boys toys and loads of WD40

Post by pczz »

Found a DIY shop which is official Bosch professional distributor and stocks makita and a few cheap brands. jig saws, chop saws. More important he has WD40 original, carb cleaner and degreaser for around $7 a big tin. i been hunting for that high and low. Also lots of hard to find things like impact drivers, tap and die sets, paint roller and tray, half decent saws, nuts and bolts electronic spirit levels, theodolytes(!) and safety boots all in a western style shop. Kimra #247 street 271 Toul Tompong just east of the PRasc headquarters building same side of road.ImageImage

should any of you have the intention to buy a table saw- avoid the makita mlt-100
it is the sloppiest, flimsiest POS i have ever used. the "miter" slide has maybe 8 degrees of slop just from the track and is completely useless

Have a couple of handymen on speed-dial. I need a screw tightened and I'll call someone. Got much better things to do than tinkering around with tools.

yeah i tried local crapsmen building bee hives and impressed that absolute dimensions were critical.
the price and finish were excellent.
dimensions up the shit, requiring lots of tacking of little wooden strips to make up the balance.
with diy the blame goes to one place LOL.

in the early 1980's i had a beautiful little vanity mirror with drawers for cosmetics. it was an antique japanese piece.
It could disassemble in seconds due to the need to run from earthquake induced fires in Japan. i had 5 different small wood shops make copies very successfully.

i got an order for 1000

"cannot"
"too many"
"cannot do"

jesus

that was in Jakarta, but no odds- it illustrates the psychology everywhere in pure Malay societies.

There IS nothing better than " tinkering around with tools" ( you sacreligious heathen).
And what did we achieve today? A pile of paperwork or a cybertrail?
In fact, i find the attitude perplexing, though common amongst Khmer. Perhaps i'm not truley 'srai' yet.
