i know there some that work an some that dont
so how do u fill the time between ur morning coffee an ur bedtime>

I start my day with a mug of coffee while watching
BBC/CNN/AL jazeera
Than look and see whom posted what new here, K440 and facebook,
than off on my morning bike ride to the beach and thru the village.
back an work for a bit before lunch

hour or so of tv while eating lunch than a but more work and a nap ( us old guys need our beauty sleep)
head to the beach about 4pm for a swim an walk, 'back home and read while dinner is prepared or i cook.

talk after dinner an than tv for abit or a movie from Pirates bay an off to bed where i read for an hour or so ...
We eat out 2-3 meals /week an the rest is spent eating at home we alternate preparing dinner)

Some might say boring but......
Haven't been to a bar in years

2 times/year take a week to month road trip and a few short vacations by air

Seriously, boredom is an understatement.

I spent the evening walking through Jeddah to get an HDMI cable so I could get back home and watch a movie, LoL. Over an hour walking, because right when we got to a freaking restaurant the call for prayer blasted, and we decided to walk to another area because we had to wait another 20+ minutes anyways

This was actually one of the more exciting days here, no joke.

A cost effective way to **fill your Day** for me has always been online gaming. Specifically, MMORPGs. Back in the UK I used to play World of Warcraft.... a LOT! These days if I get any down time I try to sleep. Not having a gaming rig is a contributing factor though that will change soon all being well. Then I'll play Path of Exile again as I like the character development paths. But I simply won't have the free time to play anything to excess like I played WoW.

Now the low season has kicked in the mad rush in the mornings of people checking out, catching buses, early check-ins etc as abated and life can slow down a little. I have time to do some small jobs, make improvement and occasionally post on here
I may even get the chance to read a few books that have been put aside.

may i ask how many hour/day u play?

When ur not playing, what fills ur day?? your running a gh?

one of my best friends son averages over 6 hours/day playing W of W when he is not in grad school.

I don't play these days. I used to play a lot though. I racked up 640 days played in the 5 years before I came to Cambodia. That's over 15,000 hours play time over just over 5 years.

But like I said, these days I just don't have the time and tbh I don;t have the inclination to play anymore.

I've racked over 2,500hrs in Civ5. Otherwise I read and watch the box (sci-fi and fantasy preferred). I also read a lot of CEO. I'm a couple of months off looking for a PT teaching or academic management job so that should help push back the boredom.

Depends on the individual I guess. If you've been type A in your home country you might NEED a lot of things to occupy your time as before. Possibly one undergoes a change in this. When I first started to go to Asia it went from one month, to 2, then to 3 and now it's more like 4 months at a time. At first I reveled in doing nothing I did not feel like doing. I put on music and watched the breeze in the trees, watched ppl, kids, oxcarts, ladies carrying small river mussels on big woven platters on their head. Did NOTHING. My whole "job" was figuring out what I wanted to eat, maybe shop for food or look for kitchen stuff. Take a walk into town.

Over time I found that got routine there and I wanted more. So I'm at the what do *I* think would benefit me to do other than usual daily tasks. Getting a bicycle is top of the list so I can poke around more. I don't spend near the time online that I do at home. I expect when I make the move I'll find some kind of "work" to fill some hours. Even volunteer stuff. Maybe I'll take a walk with a big bag and collect trash. THAT would sure keep me busy.

I find this type of thread fascinating. I am due, sooooooooooooooooooon, to move out there, after visiting a few times.

The main thing that concerns me, is filling my days. I have a simple life here, out side work. I imagine my routine to be much like the first poster, which I look forward to.

I think it will be hard to detach myself from the hectic routine I have here in the UK but life is about living and not chasing tails ( I have a cupboard full of tails, btw)

I have a few business ideas ( non of which involve bars, eateries or the abuse of Snicker Bars ) and I would also be happy to accept specific project work but initially I will be focussing on just settling in and chilling.

I would like to know which is the best software to install in my laptop so I can stream the Rugby League, films etc... (Sky package here)

I am thinking Siem Reap, I love walking and mooching about, local history and culture and know my way around a market and kitchen ( although, I don't know how to write a sentence without using too many AND's) I am sure Vlad will educate me.

I would join a debating group or groups in general. I met a lady called JW in Siem Reap, last visit and I would also like to find time to support the excellent work she does (Volunteering)

I eagerly await the development of this thread and hope any attempt to derail it by dark forces, will be met with a the harshest retort by OD and Gen (Commander in Chief of Sand Pit Forces)

Work at 630, pick up breakfast
Lunch for 15 minutes or so at 1130/12
Home at around 6/630
Dinner at 7 or so
Movies
bed at 10

Saturdays
Work at 8
Home around 1230/1
Crash
Riverside at 3 or so

Sundays recover
