Having visited the city of Siemreap in Cambodia, I come to share my experience for the visit of the temples. The first day as most people, we inquired about renting a tuk-tuk, which was simple in the end because there are tuk-tuk everywhere. The price was $ 20, which is reasonable.
The day in Angkor wat went very well, the tuk-tuk driver was nice but a bit reluctant about our requests to stop often on the road to take pictures and in late the morning to pick up us in our hotel. Having taken the pass 3 days to visit the temples, my partner and I decided to change transportation to be more independent and relax.
We thought about the bike, but the distances are consistent and the heat overwhelming, so we thought about renting a motorcycle. By informing us if we could rent a motorbike with an international license, it turn out that it strictly forbidden therefore illegal to drive a motorcycle for tourists, under penalty of fine and more if accident.
While continuing to look for an alternative, a restaurant advised us the solution of electric bicycles.
So we are going to meet the store that rent electric bicycles, and then big surprise, a warm welcome, a professional team and full of good advice for our next day discovery. Indeed, the boss directly put us in confidence, and this solution was totally legal, after all it is only bikes.
This company is very professional with procedures reassuring, such as a checking of the bikes before and after the rental, a contract with copy they give us, a safety briefing for the complete explanation of the bike and the road traffic then a short training on the road to feel comfortable on the bike. And the most important to me, the personalized and designed explanation for visiting the temples on their own map, including their free charge point in the temple area, with advice on each temple, best schedules, sense of visit, temples in the jungle with nobody, sunrise and sunset really perfect with good corners and good hours. In short no need for guide, they tell you everything! In addition, great tips on restaurants in the city, massages shop, pharmacy, change money, etc…
In the end, our last two days were great and too fun, no problems with the bikes that works really well and in complete independence. The advices of the team allowed us a relaxing visit and with not many people.
Finally, it’s an ecological solution for visiting the temples and protect the environment. I highly recommend renting a Green e-bike.

Unless there's been an actual law set in the last few months that I'm not aware of it actually isn't forbidden for foreigners to drive around angkor with a moto.
Typing this up I do now remember that in the renting contract of my moto it is written that I'm only allowed to drive around the angkor park area with a residency permit but I've been driving around the temples before as a simple tourist and never got stopped or checked for papers.

yea, i knew its self promotion, BUT still its a great, quiet way to see the park
PLUS the $20 he was referring to, was the price he paid for a tuk tuk, NOT admission...

Agree the OP is obviously an ad, but as long as its a one-off, why not, as long as it concerns Cambodia and what's available here, and it could be useful for visitors and expats now.
I have friends coming to visit Cambodia soon who might be interested in that sort of experience. I'll pass it on, it's up to them.

Still true ? That could be awkward.

I have seen the bikes in the past. Excellent idea for sightseeing the temples. I think they now should stop all oil burning contraptions around the Angkor complex. The next step should be to make electric Tuc-Tucs.
