Riding without a helmet

It boggles my mind when I see barang riding with no helmet - especially when I see their kids on the bike with no helmet either. It's completely irresponsible.
I can understand that Khmers may not be as educated about helmet and road safety, but surely westerners have had enough education on the subject to know better.

It's why some people feel free here. No one telling them what to do.

In Saigon the motodops have a helmet for their passenger. Would be good if they did that here. I have one but sometimes end up catching a moto unexpectedly.

Yes but thankfully those GofundMe begging things usually target friends and family not random strangers.
I have seen heads split open after a no hemet crash in the UK, in the 70s. Not nice for anyone, at the lest the dick who crashed is in no pain.
Also. Why do people wear those cheap $10 helmets when they have spent 100s and 1000s on a moto? Have you seen how thin the plastic is!
I spend min of $80 on a helmet and even that is cheap but at least it is DOT/EU approved.

i find its a lot more common now, compared to before, espesh in Sihanoukville

This morning, I noticed a helmetless barang on a high powered bike burning down St. 51 in BKK1, without taking any due care. The last idiot to do that lost his leg to a hit and run in the same street. Lots of luck, moron.
