Cambodia News (Phnom Penh) On 10 April 2023, HE Professor Mam Bun Heng, Minister of Health, advised people, especially those living in very hot areas, to take care of their health during hot weather.

Proposed measures to stay well during a heat wave: Drinking more than 2 liters of clean water a day, even if one is not thirsty; avoid drinking dehydrating beverages such as alcohol or coffee, tea, caffeinated and sugary drinks; don't eat salty and sweet, high-fat foods, and instead eat fruits that are rich in fiber and water, as well as natural fruits.

According to a World Health Organization report released on 7 November 2022, at least 15,000 people died in Europe due to overheating in 2022. And according to The Lancet, more than 356,000 people died from heatstroke in nine countries in 2019, numbers which are predicted to increase.

This is just one of the government's cunning plans being rolled out to combat water scarcity.

I had the idea that coffee in moderate doses is good for you, so I checked it out. Good news - drinking coffee is good for your liver !
BUT, we are talking about black coffee, no sugar - not the sweetened condensed milk version.

It's always a plus to find out that things you actually like are also good for you.
Spoiler:
Like Cambodian beer, which has a high water content and keeps you hydrated.
