yeah, planning the trip home has been a bit of a sudden and whirlwind sort of thing. with me gone, the wife is moving back to PP where her friends are, so we're trying to pack house and plan it all out... with about a month to do it in. has kept me from content hunting much, and honestly it's been sort of a "slow news month" for the country... not much happening really, compared to when there were protests and madness every other week.
I missed you were going back. What part of states are you from? How long has it been?

Originally St. Louis, then Vegas for about a year. Been 2 years, and I'm going to LA for a work contract... where I know all of like 2 people, lol. Probably stay down by long beach so I can keep practicing my Khmer.

Well Good luck with that. I never cared for LA much, but had friends there who seemed to like it after having time to adjust to it.

When you return to KoW?

i love LA once you get out into the surrounding areas... the city itself is kind of shit. 6 months to a year, depending. Ideally I'll convince them after 6 months to flip me to remote and let me come back... if not i'll have to run out the full year contract there.

so both owners of the forum will NOT be in Cambodia

good luck in LA, my daughter is up in Sonoma and I, as well as her, LOVE it there.

Hard to support a family in Cambodia, know so many others that are finding they just cant do it.

Yeah, though I'm not really sure what our physical location really has to do with it. This has been made a big deal since KiR made a big deal of is a while back over GMack moving... when one of the admins on there and half the mods are regularly not in the country. Including one who only ever visits for like a few weeks a year. lol.

It's the internet... one can post/admin from anywhere.

I was "getting by" ok here with remote work, but once my big contract ran out it's been tighter. This is a sweet opportunity to put myself in a nice comfortable position again, and hopefully flip them into continuing me remote when I move back here. It will also afford me some time to really focus on a couple of full applications i've been working on in my spare time for the cambodian business market, and some extra cash to get my agriculture project here off the ground.

I take it it's worth the money...? Why are you going back? Work from here is drying up? Felt like a change? Opportunity? Tired of the wife ;-)? Or a combination of the above?
