Koh Kong

I am considering a move yet again. I have pretty thoroughly checked out Kampot and Kep areas- suitable for me and my bees.
I am wondering though about Koh Kong as a prospect.
Andykk recently mentioned that rents are quite cheap there.
I am wondering if I can get a place out of town for around $100 a month with a bit of land say 1000 sq m?
It is just about as far to Trat as I live from PP now!

KK to Trat is an easy 2 hour drive BUT ur ONLY allowed 2 visa exempt land entries /year into Thailand.
Over that u'd need a tourist visa
PS better shopping in Trat than all of Cambodia LOL

What was wrong with Kep ( to expensive? ) Kampot (seen places on the river for $250-300/month outside town)

nothing really wrong with Kep per se, just thinking about honey production from mangrove and melaleuca as well as the forest over there.
Kampot has some pesticide issues

Frank rents are cheap here like I had said, but that was on a 3 floor town house (shop house just out of town). Unfortunately no land, only the balcony. I too have been looking for a place with land, but up to now have not found anything suitable for my projects. But I do take it one day at a time, something will turn up for sure.

I bought this land 8 years ago to build a holiday home to get out of Phnom Penh. We now live in UK. We are not returning to live In Cambodia.

This plot is not advertised for sale, I offered it as I thought it would be perfect for Frank Lee enterprise.

I hear mangroves are excellent for bees. Koh Kong is a town with great potential but one must be sure to NEVER venture north into the jungle! It's scary and dangerous and NOT worth looking at EVER! Keep away!

You might find KK is not the best place for bee-keeping. Rainfall is over 4 meters/annum....much more than Phnom Penh (& Kampot). Good luck finding a suitable rental with land near town....minimal availability & much is flooded this time of year.
