A 35 year old Australian man was arrested for stealing an iPhone from a seller at the Central Market in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

He said he was going to buy the phone, she showed it to him and he ran off with it.

She started shouting and he was caught nearby.

Probably he was watching this video on Cambodia Expats Online:

He just forgot that he needs for that stunt a companion with a motorbike .
Und der Haifisch der hat Tränen
Und die laufen vom Gesicht
Doch der Haifisch lebt im Wasser
So die Tränen sieht man nicht

In der Tiefe ist es einsam
Und so manche Träne fliesst
Und so kommt es dass das Wasser
In den Meeren salzig ist

Good thing that the cops there didn't actually use their guns. That's always something that bothered me about central market. Those assault rifles would go through the guy they're aiming at and the two guys standing behind him (that is, if you hit him in the first place)
Can you imagine the carnige that would come from such a situation. Holy shit!
But it works, I guess. I never heard of an armed robbery of the central market.

I always wondered if those guns had real live ammo and if those old AK47 were more dangerous to the operator that the person they were aimed at.

I'm guessing locals are somewhat more hesitant to stomp a foreigner.
