Plumbing problems

We had some leaks in the ceiling and the guys came in to do some repairs.

Image

They located the problem, after cutting a hole in the ceiling, There is a manhole in the bathroom but that is blocked by the hot water system, so basically it's just a hole in the ceiling to access the hot water system.

Image

Turns out, it just needed a funnel and a bit of pipe.

Ric suggested to the guy he cut a new manhole in the kitchen but that was a ridiculous notion- as IF he'd have to come back!

Except the next day.......

So, it turns out, the problem was the funnel. It just wasn't big enough.
PROBLEM SOLVED!

You'd never even know there was a problem!!!

Typical Cambodian repair job, absolute shit. At least they should have put in a proper size man hole for when the problem reappears. Did they forget their ladder, oh that's right...

And now a wet spot is developing in a completely new section of the ceiling!

"Does that pass building codes? :D"

If there was such a code only money would pass it.

If it's seeping through from a bathroom upstairs (unlikely over your kitchen? but who knows) they might have to rip up their floor tiles and waterproof and re-lay the tiles. That'll never happen. The other possibility is it's due to leaking pipes up there. Either way it has to be resolved in the upstairs apartment. Good luck with that.
