Yesterday I walked down a street with big murals painted on the building. Quite refreshing.

It's just a pity that in PP some people in charge are only there for the money and not there to make the city more beautiful. Remember the big mural painted on the ''white building'' a year or so ago . Are there any murals in Cambodia ?

More street art I spotted on my walk today. I think maturity has made me more conscious of street arts over street tarts these days.

I agree though, there's a lot of beauty in well-made graffiti and murals. Adds so much colour to a city. Public art isn't a big thing here. Here are a few from one of my last visits back home:

It's not as huge as it is in many western cities, but there is a burgeoning scene. I know a few of the artists involved. Chifumi,Theo Vallier and Lisa Mam are some of the better known ones. Lisa is actually a dentist.

Very cool, I'm an old wall dog, I got in the sign business when computers and plotters was taking over and made all those old sign painters obsolete, but got to learn some hand painting skills and use to get out and make some side money painting business signs on the side of brick buildings.

Central and South America are covered in murals, and they are some great artists.

wasnt it a banksy piece that was whitewashed over by the council?
estimated to be worth $30k?

then another banksy on a wall and the next day the wall was gone amd sold at auction!

Hi Duncan, have you ever heard about Boeung Kak district in PP ? ( " Lakeside " as they call it ) They're is a street art project going on there since 2 or 3 years. Many khmer artists and thai ones came there. You should go check it !

Can't open your file though
