Re: Unreported crimes in Cambodia
Note to self, if short of money, Rob one of taranis friends as they won't report crime...
But seriously, Khmer's no doubt know it's pointless to report a lot of shit as they know the police will either do nothing or expert cash from them or both.
Seriously though, with robbery there really isn't much the police can do anywhere, let alone Cambodia.
The only crimes I'd consider reporting in Cambodia would be if I witnessed crimes against children.
Unless of course it was something I had to do for an insurance claim or something.

Note to self: don't become one of taranis' friends, seems to make you a target for every petty crook around.
The most boring man in the World. Ever!

in my experience they ask for cash, from 10 to 50 bucks to be exactly.Digg3r wrote:they know the police will either do nothing or expert cash from them or both.

Since living in Cambodia there is one thing I firmly believe in now and I have seen the results many times.. That is Karma.
It may not come back to you today or tomorrow but watch out when it does cause it may come back to you with interest added on and you will be sorry.

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Re: Unreported crimes in Cambodia
A few months back, an 18 year old neighbour girl was in our house as an invited guest. While here, she went into our bedroom and stole an $800 gold necklace.
We didn't notice until about 2 days later, and were sure it must have been her. So, my wife called her in for a chat. Somehow, my wife managed to get the girl to confess that she had stolen the necklace.
She managed to get the girl to write and sign the confession, then read it aloud while it was recorded on the phone's camera.
The next day, my wife went to the local cop shop with the confession. The piggies wanted $50. We didn't pay.
My wife then went and told the girl's parents, who were very apologetic and reimbursed us the $800.
