I doubt they will have much luck getting his deportation reversed, and she doesn't seem to have much love for Cambodia either. Image

"The US has deported more than 500 former refugees back to Cambodia for criminal activity. Southeast Asia Globe tells the story of Ly Hov Kol, who has found himself living in a land he barely knows, far away from his family

In Phnom Penh, Ly Hov crossed paths with Elizabeth Beach, and the pair fell in love. They married in 2011 and had a child, Kathleen, the following year. But this family unit is now torn as well, as Beach felt unable to live in Cambodia long-term. After much toing and froing this has resulted in the family moving to South Korea but with long periods spent apart. Ly Hov follows his family wherever they go, as long as he can travel there legally, as they search for a long-term solution.

Meanwhile in the US, activists are protesting against Khmerican deportations to Cambodia:

Minnesota activists push back as deportations loom
Mon, 24 October 2016
Cristina Maza

Minnesota activists are mobilising community members today against what they call the unjust deportation of eight Cambodian citizens from the United States, according to local media.

On Thursday, about 200 people gathered at the University of Minnesota to hear from the families of eight men who are currently awaiting deportation to the Kingdom.

Chamroeun Phan, Chan Heng Ouch, Chan Om, Ched Nin, Phoeuy Chuon, Ron An, Soeun Chheng and Sameth Nhean were all detained in August. Activists are urging Minnesota residents to begin calling their local officials today to ask for the men’s release.

The Minnesota 8, as activists are calling them, fit the profile of many Cambodians deported from the US. Most were born in Thai refugee camps, came to the US as small children and have never set foot in their country of citizenship.

All of them are legal US residents, but face deportation due to a 2002 repatriation agreement that determined immigrants who are not US citizens can be deported if they are convicted of a crime, including some misdemeanours...

I think return to the US for him is impossible. There will be lawyers encouraging them of course to waste their money.

"Dear God, Please let them stay in Korea, or go back to the States..." Total nutters indeed. How touching (and convincing) that he has become a missionary. BUT, so unjust that he has to work for a living, so please send money. Lol.
Right now we need lots of prayer support AND financial support. We are nearing 20% of our financial support goal but Ly is also having to work as a P.E. coach at a local school to provide enough income for us. Our ultimate goal is to have the means to do the ministry full-time...
@JB, Thanks for that link. Nothing like someone outing themselves as deranged in their own words. Hope that you noticed that your last post was the 666th post. :beer3:

Wouldn't the appellation "Former Gang-Banger" be more accurate as well as more charitable?

Perhaps one needs more than a mere allegation to get booted out of The Land Of The Free And The Home Of The Brave, like a court conviction*

Anyway, he's got a Top Babe to keep him on the Straight and Narrow and many would prefer to get their Religion fro one who has had a few
biffs and bangs in Life than one who has kept to the Straight and Narrow from infancy

And, General, WHO has the date stones? Can they be sent to SR?

* Sometimes the deportation orders are grossly unfair - someone originally a refugee from Al Salvador had a much-needed post-drinking al fresco piss
and was nailed for Indecent Exposure, which was then interpreted as a sexual offence (by a female judge) and thus constituted grounds for deportation ...
