A female designer is organising a modelling competition she says is focused on women’s empowerment, the first event of its kind and scale in Siem Reap.

Keo Mardy, the owner of the Moon Shoes Collection, says the contest – dubbed “Miss the Moon” – aims to promote Khmer design, as well as to provide an opportunity for ambitious and articulate young women to put themselves in the national spotlight.

“The modern woman deserves to be promoted and encouraged,” Mardy says...

It seems like a legitimate sort of project, something to aspire to.

Just to hold your arms as such for extended periods is an art unto itself.
Some modeling agencies charge big money for those lessons. Not EZ. Just try it.

Yep, looks totally feminist to me too... aspiring to a free pair of shoes and wads of cash. Where do I sign up ? :OD:
Based on the results of Facebook voting, SMS voting and a professional jury, the contest will select a Miss Best Social Media; a Miss Popular Vote; and a Miss the Moon 2016, who will represent the shoe brand for the year. The overall winner will also receive 10,000,000 riel in cash (about $2,500), a pair of shoes, a monthly allowance and a trip to Singapore.

Those clothes and poses are way too sexy, time for re-education.

Why are you suddenly bumping old threads? Just because you were in self-imposed exile and stopped posting for X weeks doesn't mean you can dig out all the old threads with impunity...

Yeah, don't know why, but I sort of assumed that people bump up old threads when they have something new to add to the OP. Or, fair enough, if you're late to the party and the subject interests you. Can be enlightening - whatever happened with such-and-such, or who really killed so-and-so - the answer at last.
But I agree with BKL that bla-bla bumps are boring, and especially annoying when internet is slow. All that, for THAT.

However, free forum and all that. Impunity is a big word for indiscriminately posting boring bumps. Should this be a punishable offense ? :mob:

Maybe Vlad was actually trying to say something of interest about the OP, but his message was too profound for us thickies ? :stir:

It was said in jest, but at the time I think it was the third old thread in the "Unread" section that had been bumped. I don't really care either way, though it's a bit weird.

An actress/singer was banned for a year for dressing too sexily.

Recently...like a week ago or so.

Try and keep up.

You should Google it, she's not too hard on the eyes.
