Four full days of fever

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Four full days of fever

Post by riveraffront »

Maybe I caught a cold or the flu. I have had a temperature for four straight days. Today it is back to the highest, 38 Celsius. Sometimes Tylenol helps; usually not. Where is a reputable clinic with a competent Doctor, preferably a foreign Doctor? What do they charge for a consultation?
Cheers.

Basic consultation with Dr Gavin Scott in PP USED TO BE $50 in 2011

Ditto with Dr Ian Ferguson (British-Khmer Clinic) in SR is (I think) $50 for a non-resident / visiting foreigner

Ok, he's Cambodian, but foreign trained and a FLUENT speaker of English. I suspect that since the fever didn't break after 3 days you will need a blood test. Good luck

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Very few aches and pains. Only pain behind the eyes. Also, sore throat, runny nose. I am sure it is a cold or flu. But the length of the fever is worrisome.

Is your throat a funny colour or normal? Sounds viral to me, fluids, those stick on cooling pads, if paracetamol is not working try aspirin or ibuprofen. Get a decongestant, the eye pain sounds like clogged sinuses. Unless you fancy going on a drip the quack will not do much more on a first visit. Eat proper food, stop drinking
