Two decades ago, some refugees in camps in Thailand (Cambodians? / Laotians? / Vietnamese?) were threatened with being
sent to Ireland.
Several promptly went on hunger strike to demonstrate how such a prospect appalled them.
(This was reported at some length in the Irish media at the time.)

I think all refugees should be told they're being sent to Cambodia. You will know they're not too desperate if they change their minds right then and there.

As a German, I fully support Israel, the occupying of territories, the closing off of Gaza, the settlements popping up everywhere..... NOT!!!!
Whilst I do not deny the fact that Jews have a right to their country, I am no keen supporter of how they go about it.

Sorry I cannot understand what you mean there. eg,, do communists have a right to their country, Christians , Buddhist's, Hindus and Muslims have a right to their country.
If that is so, where do non- religious people fit in to have a right to their country ?

Speaking of the Kurds, there was a Kurdistan Irridenta poster map on the walls of Hawler/Erbil some
years ago showing an immense Kurdistan reaching from the Black Sea to the Mediterranean, just as
there used to be poster maps on the walls in Tripoli (the Tripoli in Libya) years ago showing an 'Arabistan'
sliced away from Iranian territory at the head of he Gulf.
