Monks on a truck

While forced relocation is a current topic... I saw one of the caged round-up trucks fully loaded and heading somewhere away from Olympic Market the other day. What surprised me was that half the 'passengers' were monks. Is this normal?

Monk Tales.
First trip to Thailand saw a monk sitting crossed legged bowed forward with his back to me. I thought I'd sneak in front and take a photo of this devout man. He was hunched over a Game Boy.
In Vang Vieng years ago there was a monk who by night used to get rolling drunk and try fight everyone. By day you'd find him tranquilly watering gardens and peacefully going about other monk business.
