Major destinations in Sihanoukville

What are the major destinations in Sihanoukville? By this I mean if a person goes somewhere from where they are staying where would they most likely go?

If there were a decent bus in snooky, what stops should it make to be attractive to passengers?

Major destinations expats would go would be the beaches, golden lions, CT clinic (if not other clinics/hospitals), banks on Ekareach, Samudera, and the main market.

Are any major points left out of this list?

This is mainly a daytime destination list. A separate destination list might be drawn up for nighttime destinations: clubs, bus stations, casinos...

Totally hypothetical. The bus could start from anywhere, but for examples sake let's start on the Beach Rd at the end of Ochheuteal Beach (like, near Jasmin Hotel).
Start, Jasmin Hotel, follow the beach rd up to the top of Serendipity Hill, turn right and head towards the lions, going past Mick and Craigs, etc. Then go straight up Ekareach, around the left bend and at the 2nd lights (?) turn up to the market. Then head south (?) two or three streets and turn right. Follow the back road to the port. Turn left to Independence beach and maybe the next beach, then back up the hill to Ekareach. Head back into Snooky, do another pick up/ drop off at the market then head back to Ochheuteal along Tola, then around the corner to Jasmin Hotel.

The downside is that the moto-dop and tuk-tuk mafia won't let it happen. Not at an affordable price, any way.

The same ones who are always complaining that "its very very far" or that there are too many hills ? ;)

A shuttle bus from the bus station to Golden Lions maybe. There would still be plenty of pickings for the tuktuks and motodops - they could hang around the bus-stops...

yeah bus station to the lions would be good, everythings walking distance from the main road, victory hill, the big market, serendipity beach etc, dont know how often it would get used though, most tourists stick around the seredipity area or otres, most people that need to get around already have motos, plus motos are very readily available for $5 a day around the serendipity area..
an evening bus service going between the victory hill area down through town to the golden lions, carrying on through to beach road, turning left down to beach road, then turning left again at apple supermarket, then left again going past golden lion plaza/the square/new night market, right at the golden lions and back through town to victory hill

but again i doubt it would get used enough to make it worth while

Just as an aside - I'm hearing very persistent rumours at the moment that the Victory Hill bus station will be closed and they will start stopping at the old station opposite Freelancers within the next couple of months. Great idea if its true. Will be a shot in the arm for the downtown business which have been doing it tough since the move to Vic Hill 3 years ago.

if they see that they can make more money they will go for it, but such a plan would need to be set up in advance and the glitches would have to be worked out

for example the tuk tuk drivers would still try to charge the same or more. then when they were empty they would not see the importance of completing the route, which would be necessary to gain public trust in the route system.

the learning curve is difficult for apes.
