Looking for manufacturer of School Playground Equipment

Post by Fennster »

Hello,

You've all seen the small playground equipment at rural schools that is in poor condition after many years. The schools tell me they come from PP and are often donated by an NGO, so I am trying to find a few shops that make outdoor playground equipment. Anyone know where I can find a shop?

Thanks

There aren’t any specialist playground makers - there isn’t a big enough market for them to specialise.
But go to any metal fabricator with a picture and they’ll make it up for you.

The above is true, and also :

-Make sure that the school approves the design (document signed)
-Make sure you get the appropriate thicknesses required for metal, and check if your subcontractor isn't cheating you on it, saving money from the deposit you gave him....better shop with him.
-If items from wood, built it so people won't take the wood away.
-Recheck the design to avoid unexpected accidents for which someone will be responsible

Great project idea anyway, lucky kids.

Make sure the gear is clearly, really clearly marked as a gift, so the school management can not falsely 'use' school budget for it using fake receipts & pocket the money.

And also the name of the donor or else it is likely to be presented as a gift from the ruling party.

There is a company which specialises and supplies playgrounds to the malls, parks, schools, rich kids villas, etc. They also make basketball courts, tennis courts, etc. Problem is I can't recall the name of the company...I'll have a search and see if I can find it.

I’ve seen this company but not aware that they do the rugged, durable equipment needed for the harsh environment - and harsh usage of rural school kids. Grand for fancy city kid, indoor playgrounds… but for out in the sticks. Expensive too, compared one made by a metal fabricator.

Can get monkey bars, see-saw and swing set, that will last for years, made, painted and installed for about $450.
