Where and to what schedule do kids get vaccinated here? Is there a record(printed?) that parents should have?

(Not COVID related)

They usually give you a vaccination card at the maternity clinic, and it has dates for later vaccinations. You can get the vaccinations in a private or government clinic/ hospital. The ones in the government facilities are said to be more trustworthy as they get through a lot so they are less likely to be expired/ damaged from bad storage.

The private clinic where our son was born gave the same advice as above. The government clinic gave him a yellow book to keep a record of the vaccines and everything was fine.

I recommend the National Pediatric Hospital on Russian Blvd....
I think it cost 5$ or $2.50 to register and $2.50 for each vaccination shot... After 19 months I think we are on the 10th shot or so..We get them to stamp the maternity clinic book and the yellow book they provide...

You should find this joint WHO and CDC immunization schedule of interest and assistance. Follow this schedule and your children will be well protected.

It's not a live link so just cut and paste in to your browser of choice.

Is this the best place? My kid will need shots too. I always thought the private Western clinics were better than government clinics in Cambodia.

The prices quoted are only for Khmer kids and only for the vaccinations in the national vaccination program. if you want more than that you need to have deep pockets and can go to the private clinics. Think Typhoid, Japanese Encephalitis, HPV, meningococci, etc etc. Count on 100-150 per shot in that case.

My kid was born in an expensive private clinic.. The vaccines (which I figure might be transported there from the NPH or Louis Pasteur Institute) along with a quick look at your kid cost 90$ a pop.
Up to you but the vaccines are not only a lot cheaper at NPH but perhaps fresher....

Anyone have any actual experience on this for their kids?
We've tried different private clinics, most would push you away if they can't provide the same brand vaccine (which I guess make's sense)

Royal Hospital does a decent job, a shot can range from 60usd to 300 usd (because some months the vaccine book requires like 2 different shots)
Khema although expensive and popular did not give us any good experience -- i would recommend to stay away (it's almost a scam to go there)
Deluxe Ratana clinic - at toul kork is with a pair of doctors from Royal -- vaccines there are not as expensive but basically the same thing
